Gurgaon To Gaya Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Gaya is a pilgrimage town for Hindus and Buddhists, with Bodh Gaya nearby. Monks, hotel staff and families move there from Gurgaon.
The road distance is about 985 km and the usual transit is 3–5 days from the day the carrier leaves Gurgaon. Add a day at either end for pickup and for the delivery appointment, and you have the real timeline. The route normally follows NH19 through Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Sasaram.
| Road distance | About 985 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 3–5 days |
| Express transit | 2–4 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹4,400 onwards |
| Pickup | Gurgaon and the rest of NCR (Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Gaya and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
Winter fog and the Pitru Paksha pilgrim rush bring slow roads. The Sasaram to Gaya stretch has heavy trucks.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Gaya. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Winter fog on the Uttar Pradesh stretch and monsoon flooding between July and September are the two seasons that stretch delivery dates.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from inside Gurgaon's sectors is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
Pickup from Gurgaon: what to expect
Gurgaon has its own pickup routine. Gated societies, basement parking and RWA rules decide how smoothly a bike is collected, so we ask for the tower, the gate and a contact for the guard. Typical pickup points for Gaya bookings are Sector 49, DLF Phase 1, DLF Phase 3, Sector 56 and Sohna Road.
Vehicles for Gaya usually leave Gurgaon through Faridabad and Palwal and join the Agra corridor, a little shorter than starting from Delhi. Evening jams at Signature Tower and Sohna Road mean the best loading slots are before 10 am.

How to shift my Bike from Gurgaon! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Gurgaon To Gaya
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
This is the usual choice. The bike is packed at your door, travels in a closed vehicle and is brought to your Gaya address. Budget ₹4,400 to ₹6,050 for a commuter bike and 3–5 days of transit, and keep your phone on during the trip. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Possible, but slow. The bike goes by parcel train from a Gurgaon station, and you collect it at Gaya. Packing is on you, the tank must be nearly empty, and transit depends on which trains run that week, so it can take longer than a carrier. If the parcel office at Gaya cannot take two-wheelers, you are stuck, so ask first. See our train vs truck comparison.
3. Ride it yourself
985 km is 3 days of riding at a comfortable pace, and 2 nights on the road. Fuel is around ₹2,100 for a commuter bike (about ₹3,100 for a 350cc Royal Enfield). Toll is free for bikes, but hotels, food and a return ticket are not. It works if you want the trip. It does not work if you are in a hurry or the bike is new and still running in.

For most people moving house or job, the covered carrier is the one that makes sense. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Gurgaon To Gaya Bike Transport Costs in 2026: What You’re Really Paying For
No one should pay for a Gurgaon to Gaya bike move without seeing the full breakup, so here it is.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹4,050 – ₹5,350 | 3–5 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹4,400 – ₹6,050 | 3–5 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹5,300 – ₹7,400 | 3–5 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹8,400 – ₹11,750 | 3–5 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹5,200)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Gurgaon to Gaya) | ₹3,150 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹500 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹800 |
| Total | ₹5,200 |
What can change the final figure
- Transit insurance: optional cover at 2.5% of what you declare, never below ₹300. Declare ₹80,000 and it comes to about ₹2,000 plus GST.
- Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 2–4 days.
- Difficult access: a narrow lane or a low basement can mean a smaller vehicle for the last stretch, and that can cost extra. Say so when you ask for the quote.
- Premium wrap: costs about ₹900 more for thicker padding and a frame around the bike. Sensible for a new or expensive machine.
- Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Gurgaon
Before any money moves for a Gurgaon to Gaya booking, go through these points. They apply to every company, including us.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Gaya delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 985 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Do not pay in full upfront. A small booking amount is fine. If someone asks for everything before pickup, that is a warning sign.
- Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
- Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
- Plan the Gaya delivery. During Pitru Paksha in September and October, roads in the town are crowded. Avoid that fortnight.
List of Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Gaya (And When NOC Matters)
You do not need a stack of paperwork to send a bike from Gurgaon. You need enough to show the bike is yours and legal to move. Our documents required for bike transport article has the long version; this is what matters on the Gurgaon to Gaya lane.
Keep these ready
- Address proof: for the pickup in Gurgaon and for the delivery in Gaya. A rent agreement or utility bill works.
- Insurance copy: the current policy. Third-party cover is the minimum, and the policy should not be expired on the day of loading.
- Authority letter: if a friend, relative or the society staff hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows a bank under hypothecation, keep the lender's consent letter or NOC with you.
- Phone numbers and landmarks: one contact in Gurgaon for the guard and one in Gaya for the driver.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike; you keep the original. Gurgaon bikes carry an HR-26 plate, though many local bikes are still on DL plates.
When NOC matters
An NOC is not needed just to put a bike on a carrier. It matters when the bike will live in Bihar for a long time. Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for over 12 months has to be registered afresh there. For that you need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the registering authority of the bike, normally the Gurugram RTO for an HR-26 plate or the Delhi RTO for a DL plate, and then you register with the RTO in Gaya.
If the move is temporary, for a course or a short posting, you can usually keep the existing registration and skip the NOC. When in doubt, apply for the NOC before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Clear any pending challans first, since they can hold the application up. Owners who qualify for a BH series plate do not need re-registration at all.
Complete Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Gaya: Pickup To Delivery
This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Send your details. The form above takes a minute. We need the bike model, whether it starts, and the two addresses: one in Sector 56 or elsewhere in Delhi NCR, one in Gaya.
- Read the quote. For 985 km it should show the total with GST, about 3–5 days on the road, and what is included. A commuter bike on this route starts near ₹4,400.
- Prepare the bike. Drain the tank to about a litre, remove accessories and clean it so scratches show up in the photos.
- Handover in South City or nearby. The crew walks around the bike with you, notes every mark, ties it down and hands you the condition sheet.
- Transit to Gaya. Expect about 3–5 days on the road. You get the driver or coordinator number for updates.
- Be reachable. The driver rings ahead. Have the gate pass or society permission ready so the vehicle is not turned away.
- Receive the bike. Walk around it with the pickup photos in hand. Sign only after you are satisfied, and keep your copy of the sheet.
In Gaya we usually deliver to Civil Lines, Kachahari Road, Bodh Gaya, Magadh Colony, Station Road and Manpur. During Pitru Paksha in September and October, roads in the town are crowded. Avoid that fortnight.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Transport Route from Gurgaon (And How You Avoid Them)
- Booking a pickup at peak hours. Between 9 and 11 am and from 5 to 8 pm the roads around Golf Course Road and Hero Honda Chowk are jammed. Ask for an early slot.
- Leaving accessories on. Mirrors, GPS holders, saddlebags and phone mounts go missing or break. Take them off.
- Forgetting the second key. Hand over only one, and keep the other with you.
- Choosing only on price. A quote far below the others usually means a shared, transfer-heavy journey or missing insurance.
- A mistake specific to Gaya. Booking delivery in the Pitru Paksha fortnight. The city sees lakhs of pilgrims and roads are closed.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Civil Lines, Kachahari Road, Bodh Gaya, Magadh Colony, Station Road and Manpur. During Pitru Paksha in September and October, roads in the town are crowded. Avoid that fortnight.
