Gurgaon To Lucknow Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Government transfers, civil-service postings and a lot of students keep Lucknow on our weekly schedule. The expressway route has made this one of the more predictable runs in the north.
The road distance is roughly 540 km, and most bikes arrive in 3–4 days from pickup. That is quick enough that people often ask whether they should ride instead; the section below compares both honestly. The route normally follows the Yamuna Expressway to Agra and then the Agra–Lucknow Expressway, a fast and mostly empty road.
| Road distance | About 540 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 3–4 days |
| Express transit | 1–2 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹3,250 onwards |
| Pickup | Gurgaon and the rest of NCR (Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Lucknow and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
Fog on the Yamuna and Agra–Lucknow expressways can force trucks to halt for hours, and a delay on the Gurgaon–Palwal stretch can set the whole day back.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Lucknow. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Winter fog on the Uttar Pradesh stretch and monsoon flooding between July and September are the two seasons that stretch delivery dates.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from inside Gurgaon's sectors is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
Pickup from Gurgaon: what to expect
Gurgaon has its own pickup routine. Gated societies, basement parking and RWA rules decide how smoothly a bike is collected, so we ask for the tower, the gate and a contact for the guard. Typical pickup points for Lucknow bookings are Sector 49, DLF Phase 1, DLF Phase 3, Sector 56 and Sohna Road.
Vehicles for Lucknow usually leave Gurgaon through Faridabad and Palwal and join the Agra corridor, a little shorter than starting from Delhi. Evening jams at Signature Tower and Sohna Road mean the best loading slots are before 10 am.

How to shift my Bike from Gurgaon! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Gurgaon To Lucknow
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
This is the usual choice. The bike is packed at your door, travels in a closed vehicle and is brought to your Lucknow address. Budget ₹3,250 to ₹4,450 for a commuter bike and 3–4 days of transit, and keep your phone on during the trip. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Indian Railways does carry two-wheelers as parcel. You book at the parcel office, the bike is packed (the tank must be nearly empty), and it travels station to station. You then collect it from Lucknow yourself, and get it home. At 540 km the saving over a carrier is small and the handling is rougher. Our train vs truck comparison goes through it in detail.
3. Ride it yourself
About 540 km takes 2 days on a bike. Fuel at roughly 45 km a litre and ₹95 a litre comes to about ₹1,150. Two-wheelers are exempt from toll, which helps. You also have to get yourself back home or onward after riding one way, which people forget while comparing prices.

If you have time and a healthy bike, riding is cheapest. If you are travelling with luggage, family or on a train, the carrier is the easier option. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Gurgaon To Lucknow Bike Transport Costs in 2026: What You’re Really Paying For
No one should pay for a Gurgaon to Lucknow bike move without seeing the full breakup, so here it is.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹2,950 – ₹3,900 | 3–4 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹3,250 – ₹4,450 | 3–4 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹3,900 – ₹5,450 | 3–4 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹6,150 – ₹8,600 | 3–4 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹3,850)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Gurgaon to Lucknow) | ₹2,150 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹350 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹600 |
| Total | ₹3,850 |
Extras and adjustments
- Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹80,000 that is about ₹2,000, plus GST.
- Express delivery: costs roughly a quarter more on the transport charge and cuts the trip to 1–2 days.
- Premium wrap: adds about ₹900 for extra padding and a crate-style frame, worth it for a new or high-value bike.
- Waiting time: if the driver is kept waiting at pickup or delivery for hours, waiting charges can apply. Ask the policy before you book.
- Difficult access: a narrow lane or a low basement can mean a smaller vehicle for the last stretch, and that can cost extra. Say so when you ask for the quote.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Gurgaon
Before any money moves for a Gurgaon to Lucknow booking, go through these points. They apply to every company, including us.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Lucknow delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 540 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
- Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
- Plan the Lucknow delivery. Hazratganj and the old city around Chowk are congested during the day, so we plan those deliveries for early morning.
List of Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Lucknow (And When NOC Matters)
You do not need a stack of paperwork to send a bike from Gurgaon. You need enough to show the bike is yours and legal to move. Our documents required for bike transport article has the long version; this is what matters on the Gurgaon to Lucknow lane.
Keep these ready
- Address proof: for the pickup in Gurgaon and for the delivery in Lucknow. A rent agreement or utility bill works.
- Insurance copy: the current policy. Third-party cover is the minimum, and the policy should not be expired on the day of loading.
- Authority letter: if a friend, relative or the society staff hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows a bank under hypothecation, keep the lender's consent letter or NOC with you.
- Phone numbers and landmarks: one contact in Gurgaon for the guard and one in Lucknow for the driver.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike; you keep the original. Gurgaon bikes carry an HR-26 plate, though many local bikes are still on DL plates.
When NOC matters
An NOC is not needed just to put a bike on a carrier. It matters when the bike will live in Uttar Pradesh for a long time. Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for over 12 months has to be registered afresh there. For that you need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the registering authority of the bike, normally the Gurugram RTO for an HR-26 plate or the Delhi RTO for a DL plate, and then you register with the RTO in Lucknow.
If the move is temporary, for a course or a short posting, you can usually keep the existing registration and skip the NOC. When in doubt, apply for the NOC before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Clear any pending challans first, since they can hold the application up. Owners who qualify for a BH series plate do not need re-registration at all.
Complete Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Lucknow: Pickup To Delivery
This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Send your details. The form above takes a minute. We need the bike model, whether it starts, and the two addresses: one in Sector 56 or elsewhere in Delhi NCR, one in Lucknow.
- Confirm the booking. Check the days and the price, then pay the booking amount. Keep the receipt; you will need it at delivery.
- Get the bike ready. Leave about a litre of petrol, take off bags and phone mounts, and wash it so existing marks are clear. Winter fog on the Uttar Pradesh stretch and monsoon flooding between July and September are the two seasons that stretch delivery dates.
- Pickup in Delhi NCR. The crew inspects the bike with you, photographs it, wraps and straps it, and gives you a signed condition sheet.
- While it travels. Keep your phone on. A delay from weather or a breakdown is reported to you, not hidden until the due date.
- Fix the delivery time. If you are in Gomti Nagar or Hazratganj, tell the driver the society name and gate number, and who will be there.
- Inspect and close. Match the bike to the pickup photos, start it, and note any damage on the paper before you sign and pay.
In Lucknow we usually deliver to Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Aliganj, Indira Nagar, Alambagh and Jankipuram. Hazratganj and the old city around Chowk are congested during the day, so we plan those deliveries for early morning.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Transport Route from Gurgaon (And How You Avoid Them)
- Booking a pickup at peak hours. Between 9 and 11 am and from 5 to 8 pm the roads around Golf Course Road and Hero Honda Chowk are jammed. Ask for an early slot.
- Booking too late. Last-minute bookings get whatever vehicle is free, often at a higher rate. Book three to five days ahead on this route.
- Ignoring the weather. Winter fog on the Uttar Pradesh stretch and monsoon flooding between July and September are the two seasons that stretch delivery dates. Ask for a flexible window.
- Leaving a full tank. Carriers can refuse a bike with lots of fuel. Keep about a litre.
- A mistake specific to Lucknow. Booking a train parcel without confirming Lucknow parcel-office hours. If you arrive after closing, the bike sits at the station and you pay for each extra day.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Aliganj, Indira Nagar, Alambagh and Jankipuram. Hazratganj and the old city around Chowk are congested during the day, so we plan those deliveries for early morning.
