Gurgaon To Srinagar Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Army postings, bank and government transfers, and tourism workers send bikes to Srinagar. It is the one route on our list where the weather matters more than the distance.
The road distance is about 910 km and the usual transit is 3–5 days from the day the carrier leaves Gurgaon. Add a day at either end for pickup and for the delivery appointment, and you have the real timeline. The route normally follows NH44 through Panipat, Ambala, Jalandhar, Jammu and the Banihal tunnels into the Kashmir valley.
| Road distance | About 910 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 3–5 days |
| Express transit | 2–4 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹4,200 onwards |
| Pickup | Gurgaon and the rest of NCR (Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Srinagar and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
Snowfall, landslides near Ramban and traffic control on the Jammu–Srinagar highway can stop trucks for a day or longer. In winter, the road is the main risk, not the carrier.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Srinagar. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Dense fog between late December and January is the usual slowdown on this side of the country. Summers are hot but rarely change the schedule.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from inside Gurgaon's sectors is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
Pickup from Gurgaon: what to expect
Most Gurgaon bookings begin in a society or a company campus. Common starting points are Sohna Road, Golf Course Road, Sushant Lok, Palam Vihar and Udyog Vihar. A pre-informed guard saves an hour at the gate.
For Srinagar the vehicle leaves Gurgaon by the Kundli–Manesar–Palwal expressway or the Delhi side and joins NH44 northward. Expect an extra 30 to 40 km compared with a Delhi pickup. Office-hour traffic on Golf Course Road and at Hero Honda Chowk is heavy, which is why morning pickups are the easiest.

How to shift my Bike from Gurgaon! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Gurgaon To Srinagar
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Srinagar address. A commuter bike runs about ₹4,200 to ₹5,750, with 3–5 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Possible, but slow. The bike goes by parcel train from a Gurgaon station, and you collect it at Srinagar. Packing is on you, the tank must be nearly empty, and transit depends on which trains run that week, so it can take longer than a carrier. If the parcel office at Srinagar cannot take two-wheelers, you are stuck, so ask first. See our train vs truck comparison.
3. Ride it yourself
910 km is 3 days of riding at a comfortable pace, and 2 nights on the road. Fuel is around ₹1,900 for a commuter bike (about ₹2,900 for a 350cc Royal Enfield). Toll is free for bikes, but hotels, food and a return ticket are not. It works if you want the trip. It does not work if you are in a hurry or the bike is new and still running in.

For most people moving house or job, the covered carrier is the one that makes sense. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Gurgaon To Srinagar Bike Transport Costs in 2026: What You’re Really Paying For
Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹3,850 – ₹5,100 | 3–5 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹4,200 – ₹5,750 | 3–5 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹5,050 – ₹7,100 | 3–5 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹8,000 – ₹11,200 | 3–5 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹5,000)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Gurgaon to Srinagar) | ₹3,000 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹500 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹750 |
| Total | ₹5,000 |
What can push the price up or down
- Transit insurance: optional cover at 2.5% of what you declare, never below ₹300. Declare ₹1,00,000 and it comes to about ₹2,500 plus GST.
- Express delivery: costs roughly a quarter more on the transport charge and cuts the trip to 2–4 days.
- Depot instead of door: if you collect from or drop at a transport hub, you save about ₹750 plus GST.
- Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.
- Difficult access: if the truck cannot reach your gate, a smaller vehicle for the last stretch may cost extra. Tell us the address up front.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Gurgaon
A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Srinagar delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 910 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
- Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
- Plan the Srinagar delivery. Old-city lanes near Lal Chowk are very narrow, so vehicles meet you at a main road.
List of Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Srinagar (And When NOC Matters)
Most bike shipments from Gurgaon are held up by missing papers, not by the road. Here is what to keep ready for Srinagar, and the longer list is in our documents article.
Keep these ready
- Owner's ID proof: Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the name matching the RC.
- Address proof: for the pickup in Gurgaon and for the delivery in Srinagar. A rent agreement or utility bill works.
- Insurance copy: the current policy. Third-party cover is the minimum, and the policy should not be expired on the day of loading.
- Authority letter: if a friend, relative or the society staff hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows a bank under hypothecation, keep the lender's consent letter or NOC with you.
- Phone numbers and landmarks: one contact in Gurgaon for the guard and one in Srinagar for the driver.
When NOC matters
An NOC is not needed just to put a bike on a carrier. It matters when the bike will live in Jammu and Kashmir for a long time. Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for over 12 months has to be registered afresh there. For that you need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the registering authority of the bike, normally the Gurugram RTO for an HR-26 plate or the Delhi RTO for a DL plate, and then you register with the RTO in Srinagar.
If the move is temporary, for a course or a short posting, you can usually keep the existing registration and skip the NOC. When in doubt, apply for the NOC before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Clear any pending challans first, since they can hold the application up. Owners who qualify for a BH series plate do not need re-registration at all.
Complete Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Srinagar: Pickup To Delivery
This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Send your details. The form above takes a minute. We need the bike model, whether it starts, and the two addresses: one in Golf Course Road or elsewhere in Delhi NCR, one in Srinagar.
- Compare and confirm. You get a written quote with the days. Pay a small booking amount only after reading it.
- Get the bike ready. Leave about a litre of petrol, take off bags and phone mounts, and wash it so existing marks are clear. Dense fog between late December and January is the usual slowdown on this side of the country. Summers are hot but rarely change the schedule.
- Pickup day. Someone should be at the house to sign. The bike is photographed from all sides, wrapped, strapped and loaded.
- On the road. The carrier follows NH44. Ask for a call at the main halts; that is normal on a 910 km run.
- Fix the delivery time. If you are in Rajbagh or Lal Chowk, tell the driver the society name and gate number, and who will be there.
- Receive the bike. Walk around it with the pickup photos in hand. Sign only after you are satisfied, and keep your copy of the sheet.
In Srinagar we usually deliver to Rajbagh, Lal Chowk, Hyderpora, Bemina, Nowgam and Batamaloo. Old-city lanes near Lal Chowk are very narrow, so vehicles meet you at a main road.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Transport Route from Gurgaon (And How You Avoid Them)
- Booking a pickup at peak hours. Between 9 and 11 am and from 5 to 8 pm the roads around Golf Course Road and Hero Honda Chowk are jammed. Ask for an early slot.
- Trusting a verbal promise. If the days or the price are not on paper, they are not a promise.
- Booking too late. Last-minute bookings get whatever vehicle is free, often at a higher rate. Book three to five days ahead on this route.
- Leaving a full tank. Carriers can refuse a bike with lots of fuel. Keep about a litre.
- A mistake specific to Srinagar. Booking in January without expecting delays. Always ask whether the carrier will hold the load at Jammu in case the highway is closed.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Rajbagh, Lal Chowk, Hyderpora, Bemina, Nowgam and Batamaloo. Old-city lanes near Lal Chowk are very narrow, so vehicles meet you at a main road.
