Gurgaon To Pune Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Hinjewadi, Kharadi and Magarpatta pull in a lot of engineers from Delhi NCR, and the Army and defence postings in Pune add more. The route behaves much like Gurgaon to Mumbai, with the extra 150 km at the end.
The road distance is about 1,430 km and the usual transit is 4–6 days from the day the carrier leaves Gurgaon. Add a day at either end for pickup and for the delivery appointment, and you have the real timeline. The route normally follows NH48 through Rajasthan and Gujarat, then Maharashtra, finishing on the Mumbai–Pune route.
| Road distance | About 1,430 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 4–6 days |
| Express transit | 2–4 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹5,550 onwards |
| Pickup | Gurgaon and the rest of NCR (Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Pune and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
The Mumbai–Pune section and the ghat roads near Lonavala slow trucks in rain, and Pune restricts heavy vehicles inside the city for most of the day.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Pune. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. June to September is the slow season for ghat and coastal sections. Winter is generally smooth, apart from morning fog out of Gurgaon.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from inside Gurgaon's sectors is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
Pickup from Gurgaon: what to expect
Most Gurgaon bookings begin in a society or a company campus. Common starting points are DLF Phase 3, Sector 56, Sohna Road, Golf Course Road and Sushant Lok. A pre-informed guard saves an hour at the gate.
Gurgaon sits on NH48, so a vehicle heading for Pune joins the highway without crossing Delhi. That usually saves 25 to 35 km and the slowest part of the trip, the Delhi border. Office-hour traffic on Golf Course Road and at Hero Honda Chowk is heavy, which is why morning pickups are the easiest.

How to shift my Bike from Gurgaon! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Gurgaon To Pune
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Pune address. A commuter bike runs about ₹5,550 to ₹7,600, with 4–6 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Possible, but slow. The bike goes by parcel train from a Gurgaon station, and you collect it at Pune. Packing is on you, the tank must be nearly empty, and transit depends on which trains run that week, so it can take longer than a carrier. If the parcel office at Pune cannot take two-wheelers, you are stuck, so ask first. See our train vs truck comparison.
3. Ride it yourself
1,430 km is 4 days of riding at a comfortable pace, and 3 nights on the road. Fuel is around ₹3,000 for a commuter bike (about ₹4,550 for a 350cc Royal Enfield). Toll is free for bikes, but hotels, food and a return ticket are not. It works if you want the trip. It does not work if you are in a hurry or the bike is new and still running in.

For most people moving house or job, the covered carrier is the one that makes sense. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Gurgaon To Pune Bike Transport Costs in 2026: What You’re Really Paying For
Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹5,100 – ₹6,750 | 4–6 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹5,550 – ₹7,600 | 4–6 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹6,650 – ₹9,300 | 4–6 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹10,550 – ₹14,750 | 4–6 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹6,600)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Gurgaon to Pune) | ₹4,150 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹700 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹1,000 |
| Total | ₹6,600 |
What can change the final figure
- Transit insurance: optional cover at 2.5% of what you declare, never below ₹300. Declare ₹1,00,000 and it comes to about ₹2,500 plus GST.
- Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 2–4 days.
- Depot instead of door: if you collect from or drop at a transport hub, you save about ₹750 plus GST.
- Difficult access: a narrow lane or a low basement can mean a smaller vehicle for the last stretch, and that can cost extra. Say so when you ask for the quote.
- Waiting time: if the driver is kept waiting at pickup or delivery for hours, waiting charges can apply. Ask the policy before you book.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Gurgaon
A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Pune delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 1,430 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
- Do not pay in full upfront. A small booking amount is fine. If someone asks for everything before pickup, that is a warning sign.
- Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
- Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Plan the Pune delivery. Hinjewadi has long evening jams, so a delivery slot before noon works better.
List of Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Pune (And When NOC Matters)
Most bike shipments from Gurgaon are held up by missing papers, not by the road. Here is what to keep ready for Pune, and the longer list is in our documents article.
Keep these ready
- Loan papers: if the RC shows a bank under hypothecation, keep the lender's consent letter or NOC with you.
- Phone numbers and landmarks: one contact in Gurgaon for the guard and one in Pune for the driver.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike; you keep the original. Gurgaon bikes carry an HR-26 plate, though many local bikes are still on DL plates.
- Owner's ID proof: Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the name matching the RC.
- Address proof: for the pickup in Gurgaon and for the delivery in Pune. A rent agreement or utility bill works.
- Insurance copy: the current policy. Third-party cover is the minimum, and the policy should not be expired on the day of loading.
When NOC matters
An NOC is not needed just to put a bike on a carrier. It matters when the bike will live in Maharashtra for a long time. Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for over 12 months has to be registered afresh there. For that you need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the registering authority of the bike, normally the Gurugram RTO for an HR-26 plate or the Delhi RTO for a DL plate, and then you register with the RTO in Pune.
If the move is temporary, for a course or a short posting, you can usually keep the existing registration and skip the NOC. When in doubt, apply for the NOC before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Clear any pending challans first, since they can hold the application up. Owners who qualify for a BH series plate do not need re-registration at all.
Complete Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Pune: Pickup To Delivery
Here is the sequence on a typical booking. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Send your details. The form above takes a minute. We need the bike model, whether it starts, and the two addresses: one in Nirvana Country or elsewhere in Delhi NCR, one in Pune.
- Confirm the booking. Check the days and the price, then pay the booking amount. Keep the receipt; you will need it at delivery.
- Get the bike ready. Leave about a litre of petrol, take off bags and phone mounts, and wash it so existing marks are clear. June to September is the slow season for ghat and coastal sections. Winter is generally smooth, apart from morning fog out of Gurgaon.
- Pickup day. Someone should be at the house to sign. The bike is photographed from all sides, wrapped, strapped and loaded.
- On the road. The carrier follows NH48. Ask for a call at the main halts; that is normal on a 1,430 km run.
- Delivery slot. The driver calls before arrival. Share the exact address, gate and a person who can sign.
- Check, sign and pay the balance. Compare the bike against your pickup photos before signing. Write any scratch on the delivery sheet at the time.
In Pune we usually deliver to Hinjewadi, Baner, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Hadapsar and Kothrud. Hinjewadi has long evening jams, so a delivery slot before noon works better.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Transport Route from Gurgaon (And How You Avoid Them)
- Booking a pickup at peak hours. Between 9 and 11 am and from 5 to 8 pm the roads around Golf Course Road and Hero Honda Chowk are jammed. Ask for an early slot.
- Ignoring the weather. June to September is the slow season for ghat and coastal sections. Winter is generally smooth, apart from morning fog out of Gurgaon. Ask for a flexible window.
- Leaving accessories on. Mirrors, GPS holders, saddlebags and phone mounts go missing or break. Take them off.
- Choosing only on price. A quote far below the others usually means a shared, transfer-heavy journey or missing insurance.
- A mistake specific to Pune. Assuming Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad are the same drop. They are separate RTO areas and separate delivery routes, so say clearly which side of the city you live on.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Hinjewadi, Baner, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Hadapsar and Kothrud. Hinjewadi has long evening jams, so a delivery slot before noon works better.
