Gurgaon To Guwahati Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Army and paramilitary postings, bank transfers and students for IIT Guwahati account for most bikes shipped to Guwahati. It is the gateway to the North-East.
At about 1,885 km the transit is 6–8 days. Treat that as the time the vehicle is moving, and keep one more day free on either side for pickup and for taking delivery. The route normally follows through Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, then North Bengal through the Siliguri corridor into Assam.
| Road distance | About 1,885 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 6–8 days |
| Express transit | 4–6 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹6,150 onwards |
| Pickup | Gurgaon and the rest of NCR (Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Guwahati and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
The Siliguri corridor is narrow, and monsoon floods in North Bengal and Assam can cut roads for days. It is the least predictable of our long routes.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Guwahati. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Winter fog on the Uttar Pradesh stretch and monsoon flooding between July and September are the two seasons that stretch delivery dates.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from inside Gurgaon's sectors is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
Pickup from Gurgaon: what to expect
Pickups in Gurgaon run through societies and sector roads. Guards check the vehicle against a list, and some societies allow goods vehicles only in set hours. We usually collect from places such as Sector 82, Sector 49, DLF Phase 1, DLF Phase 3 and Sector 56.
Vehicles for Guwahati usually leave Gurgaon through Faridabad and Palwal and join the Agra corridor, a little shorter than starting from Delhi. Office-hour traffic on Golf Course Road and at Hero Honda Chowk is heavy, which is why morning pickups are the easiest.

How to shift my Bike from Gurgaon! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Gurgaon To Guwahati
People usually ask which method is best, and the honest answer depends on distance, the bike, and how much you want to handle yourself.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
A trained crew wraps the bike, straps it to a frame inside a covered vehicle, and the same company takes it to your Guwahati address. For most people this is the sensible choice: about ₹6,150 to ₹8,400 for a commuter bike, 6–8 days on the road, and nothing for you to arrange apart from being there at both ends. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
On this distance, parcel trains involve more than one connection, and a bike left at a transfer station gets damaged more often than one on a single carrier. If you do try it, book a direct service where possible, and ask the parcel office at Guwahati whether they take two-wheelers. More on that in our train vs truck guide.
3. Ride it yourself
1,885 km means 5 days of riding and 4 hotel nights. Fuel alone is about ₹4,000 for a commuter and about ₹5,950 for a 350cc bike. It is a real trip, not a relocation tool, and a long ride ages tyres, chain and brakes. Few people do it for a house move.

At this distance, a covered carrier is the only practical way to move the bike, unless you want an adventure. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Gurgaon To Guwahati Bike Transport Costs in 2026: What You’re Really Paying For
Here are the numbers for a bike going from Gurgaon to Guwahati. They include standard packing, loading, GST and door pickup and delivery. Insurance is optional and comes on top.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹5,650 – ₹7,450 | 6–8 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹6,150 – ₹8,400 | 6–8 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹7,400 – ₹10,350 | 6–8 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹11,700 – ₹16,350 | 6–8 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹7,300)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Gurgaon to Guwahati) | ₹4,700 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹750 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹1,100 |
| Total | ₹7,300 |
What can push the price up or down
- Transit insurance: optional cover at 2.5% of what you declare, never below ₹300. Declare ₹90,000 and it comes to about ₹2,250 plus GST.
- Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 4–6 days.
- Depot instead of door: if you collect from or drop at a transport hub, you save about ₹750 plus GST.
- Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.
- Difficult access: a narrow lane or a low basement can mean a smaller vehicle for the last stretch, and that can cost extra. Say so when you ask for the quote.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Gurgaon
Most complaints about bike shipping start with a rushed advance payment. Before you send money, run through this list.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Guwahati delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 1,885 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Get a driver or coordinator number. You should be able to reach a real person while the bike is moving.
- Pay into a business account and take an invoice. A transfer to someone's personal number with no bill leaves you with nothing to show later.
- Verify who you are paying. A genuine company will give you a GST number, a registered address and an office phone. Check them, and read the Google reviews.
- Keep the advance small. A booking amount is normal. Anyone who wants the full payment before the bike has even been picked up deserves suspicion.
- Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
- Plan the Guwahati delivery. Fancy Bazaar and Paltan Bazaar are very congested, so the driver stops at the nearest main road.
List of Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Guwahati (And When NOC Matters)
For a Gurgaon to Guwahati booking, keep the papers short and clean: ownership, ID, insurance and a clear address at both ends. The longer explanation sits in our documents guide.
Keep these ready
- Authority letter: if a friend, relative or the society staff hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows a bank under hypothecation, keep the lender's consent letter or NOC with you.
- Phone numbers and landmarks: one contact in Gurgaon for the guard and one in Guwahati for the driver.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike; you keep the original. Gurgaon bikes carry an HR-26 plate, though many local bikes are still on DL plates.
- Owner's ID proof: Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the name matching the RC.
- Address proof: for the pickup in Gurgaon and for the delivery in Guwahati. A rent agreement or utility bill works.
When NOC matters
An NOC is not needed just to put a bike on a carrier. It matters when the bike will live in Assam for a long time. Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for over 12 months has to be registered afresh there. For that you need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the registering authority of the bike, normally the Gurugram RTO for an HR-26 plate or the Delhi RTO for a DL plate, and then you register with the RTO in Guwahati.
If the move is temporary, for a course or a short posting, you can usually keep the existing registration and skip the NOC. When in doubt, apply for the NOC before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Clear any pending challans first, since they can hold the application up. Owners who qualify for a BH series plate do not need re-registration at all.
Complete Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Guwahati: Pickup To Delivery
This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Start with the form. Give your name, number and bike. If the bike is a Splendor or Activa and the drop is near Dispur, mention it so the quote fits.
- Confirm the booking. Check the days and the price, then pay the booking amount. Keep the receipt; you will need it at delivery.
- Prepare the bike. Drain the tank to about a litre, remove accessories and clean it so scratches show up in the photos.
- Handover in Sector 82 or nearby. The crew walks around the bike with you, notes every mark, ties it down and hands you the condition sheet.
- While it travels. Keep your phone on. A delay from weather or a breakdown is reported to you, not hidden until the due date.
- Fix the delivery time. If you are in Dispur or Beltola, tell the driver the society name and gate number, and who will be there.
- Receive the bike. Walk around it with the pickup photos in hand. Sign only after you are satisfied, and keep your copy of the sheet.
In Guwahati we usually deliver to Dispur, Beltola, Paltan Bazaar, Six Mile, Zoo Road and Guwahati Club area. Fancy Bazaar and Paltan Bazaar are very congested, so the driver stops at the nearest main road.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Transport Route from Gurgaon (And How You Avoid Them)
- Giving only a sector number. Gurgaon sectors are large. Add the society or block name and a landmark so the driver does not circle for an hour.
- Choosing only on price. A quote far below the others usually means a shared, transfer-heavy journey or missing insurance.
- Forgetting the second key. Hand over only one, and keep the other with you.
- Not checking who signs. Whoever signs at delivery accepts the bike as is, so have the right person there.
- A mistake specific to Guwahati. Not asking about monsoon rerouting. Ask the carrier if they hold at Siliguri or push on.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Dispur, Beltola, Paltan Bazaar, Six Mile, Zoo Road and Guwahati Club area. Fancy Bazaar and Paltan Bazaar are very congested, so the driver stops at the nearest main road.
