Delhi To Agra Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Because of the Yamuna Expressway, Agra is one of the easiest short routes from Delhi. People moving here are often tourism workers, college staff or families shifting to a quieter city.
Expect about 230 km on the road and 2–3 days from pickup to delivery. It is a short enough haul that the day you book matters more than the quote you pick. The route normally follows the Yamuna Expressway from Noida, around three hours on a good day.
| Road distance | About 230 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 2–3 days |
| Express transit | same day or next day |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹2,800 onwards |
| Pickup | Delhi and NCR (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Agra and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
Expressway speed limits are strictly enforced for trucks, and fog in December and January is the main cause of delay. Outside winter, deliveries are same-day or next-day.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Agra. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Dense fog between late December and January is the usual slowdown on this side of the country. Summers are hot but rarely change the schedule.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Agra
People usually ask which method is best, and the honest answer depends on distance, the bike, and how much you want to handle yourself.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
A trained crew wraps the bike, straps it to a frame inside a covered vehicle, and the same company takes it to your Agra address. For most people this is the sensible choice: about ₹2,800 to ₹3,850 for a commuter bike, 2–3 days on the road, and nothing for you to arrange apart from being there at both ends. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Indian Railways does carry two-wheelers as parcel. You book at the parcel office, the bike is packed (the tank must be nearly empty), and it travels station to station. You then collect it from Agra yourself, and get it home. At 230 km the saving over a carrier is small and the handling is rougher. Our train vs truck comparison goes through it in detail.
3. Ride it yourself
About 230 km takes one long day on a bike. Fuel at roughly 45 km a litre and ₹95 a litre comes to about ₹500. Two-wheelers are exempt from toll, which helps. You also have to get yourself back home or onward after riding one way, which people forget while comparing prices.

If you have time and a healthy bike, riding is cheapest. If you are travelling with luggage, family or on a train, the carrier is the easier option. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Delhi To Agra Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For
Here are the numbers for a bike going from Delhi to Agra. They include standard packing, loading, GST and door pickup and delivery. Insurance is optional and comes on top.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹2,600 – ₹3,400 | 2–3 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹2,800 – ₹3,850 | 2–3 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹3,350 – ₹4,700 | 2–3 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹5,300 – ₹7,450 | 2–3 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹3,300)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Delhi to Agra) | ₹1,750 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹300 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹500 |
| Total | ₹3,300 |
What can push the price up or down
- Transit insurance: optional cover at 2.5% of what you declare, never below ₹300. Declare ₹90,000 and it comes to about ₹2,250 plus GST.
- Express delivery: costs roughly a quarter more on the transport charge and cuts the trip to same day or next day.
- Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.
- Premium wrap: costs about ₹900 more for thicker padding and a frame around the bike. Sensible for a new or expensive machine.
- Difficult access: a narrow lane or a low basement can mean a smaller vehicle for the last stretch, and that can cost extra. Say so when you ask for the quote.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi
Most complaints about bike shipping start with a rushed advance payment. Before you send money, run through this list.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Agra delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 230 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Get a driver or coordinator number. You should be able to reach a real person while the bike is moving.
- Inspect at pickup. Shoot photos or a short video of every side of the bike, note the odometer, and get a condition sheet signed by the crew.
- Verify who you are paying. A genuine company will give you a GST number, a registered address and an office phone. Check them, and read the Google reviews.
- Keep the advance small. A booking amount is normal. Anyone who wants the full payment before the bike has even been picked up deserves suspicion.
- Read the insurance. Ask for the policy copy, what is covered (theft, accident, damage in loading), the excess, and who to call after a problem.
- Plan the Agra delivery. Areas close to the Taj Mahal have vehicle restrictions, so heavy trucks stop outside the zone.
Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Agra (And When NOC Matters)
The carrier needs only a few papers to accept the bike. The heavier paperwork comes later, when you register in Uttar Pradesh.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike, and the original stays with you.
- Addresses and phone numbers: a working contact and a landmark at the Delhi end and at the Agra end.
- Valid insurance: a copy of the bike's current policy.
- Letter of authority: needed when a relative or friend hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
- Owner's ID: any one of Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the same name as the RC.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows hypothecation, carry the lender's consent letter for the move.
When NOC matters
You do not need an NOC to put a bike on a carrier. You need it when the bike has to be registered in Uttar Pradesh. A registration from another state is valid for twelve months under the Motor Vehicles Act, and then a new number must be taken. The NOC comes from the Delhi transport office, and if a loan is running, the bank has to release its hold first.
Agra's RTO uses the UP-80 series, and the transfer needs the Delhi NOC and Agra address proof.
Two extra notes: owners who qualify for the BH series can skip re-registration altogether, and the rules on older vehicles in Delhi–NCR keep changing, so it is worth confirming where your bike stands before you pay anyone. For a full list, see our documents required for bike transport article.
Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Delhi to Agra: Pickup To Delivery
Most bookings follow these seven steps. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Start with the form. Give your name, number and bike. If the bike is a Splendor or Activa and the drop is near Sanjay Place, mention it so the quote fits.
- Read the quote. For 230 km it should show the total with GST, about 2–3 days on the road, and what is included. A commuter bike on this route starts near ₹2,800.
- Clear the bike. Remove the helmet lock gadgets, mirrors-mounted cameras and luggage. Keep one key and the RC with you.
- Pickup in Delhi NCR. The crew inspects the bike with you, photographs it, wraps and straps it, and gives you a signed condition sheet.
- Transit to Agra. Expect about 2–3 days on the road. You get the driver or coordinator number for updates.
- Be reachable. The driver rings ahead. Have the gate pass or society permission ready so the vehicle is not turned away.
- Inspect and close. Match the bike to the pickup photos, start it, and note any damage on the paper before you sign and pay.
In Agra we usually deliver to Sanjay Place, Kamla Nagar, Sikandra, Shahganj, Taj Nagari Phase 2 and Tajganj. Areas close to the Taj Mahal have vehicle restrictions, so heavy trucks stop outside the zone.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)
- Ignoring the weather. Dense fog between late December and January is the usual slowdown on this side of the country. Summers are hot but rarely change the schedule. Ask for a flexible window.
- Leaving a full tank. Carriers can refuse a bike with lots of fuel. Keep about a litre.
- Skipping the photos. Without pickup photos, a damage claim becomes your word against theirs.
- A mistake specific to Agra. Expecting the truck to enter lanes near Taj Ganj. The Taj protected zone limits vehicles, so choose a drop point at the edge and be ready to walk the bike in.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Sanjay Place, Kamla Nagar, Sikandra, Shahganj, Taj Nagari Phase 2 and Tajganj. Areas close to the Taj Mahal have vehicle restrictions, so heavy trucks stop outside the zone.
