Delhi To Indore Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Business families, IT staff at Super Corridor and students make Indore a steady drop. It is also one of the cleanest cities for delivery, with wide roads and fewer entry restrictions.
The road distance is about 810 km and the usual transit is 3–5 days from the day the carrier leaves Delhi. Add a day at either end for pickup and for the delivery appointment, and you have the real timeline. The route normally follows a route through Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh, with the exact road depending on how the carrier loads.
| Road distance | About 810 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 3–5 days |
| Express transit | 2–4 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹3,950 onwards |
| Pickup | Delhi and NCR (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Indore and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
The Rajasthan–Madhya Pradesh border and ghat sections near Ujjain are where a truck can lose time. Otherwise it is a clear run.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Indore. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Fog on the northern leg in winter and heavy monsoon rain from July to September are the two periods when this route runs slower.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Indore
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
A trained crew wraps the bike, straps it to a frame inside a covered vehicle, and the same company takes it to your Indore address. For most people this is the sensible choice: about ₹3,950 to ₹5,400 for a commuter bike, 3–5 days on the road, and nothing for you to arrange apart from being there at both ends. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Possible, but slow. The bike goes by parcel train from a Delhi station, and you collect it at Indore. Packing is on you, the tank must be nearly empty, and transit depends on which trains run that week, so it can take longer than a carrier. If the parcel office at Indore cannot take two-wheelers, you are stuck, so ask first. See our train vs truck comparison.
3. Ride it yourself
810 km is 3 days of riding at a comfortable pace, and 2 nights on the road. Fuel is around ₹1,700 for a commuter bike (about ₹2,550 for a 350cc Royal Enfield). Toll is free for bikes, but hotels, food and a return ticket are not. It works if you want the trip. It does not work if you are in a hurry or the bike is new and still running in.

For most people moving house or job, the covered carrier is the one that makes sense. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Delhi To Indore Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For
Here are the numbers for a bike going from Delhi to Indore. They include standard packing, loading, GST and door pickup and delivery. Insurance is optional and comes on top.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹3,650 – ₹4,800 | 3–5 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹3,950 – ₹5,400 | 3–5 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹4,750 – ₹6,650 | 3–5 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹7,500 – ₹10,500 | 3–5 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹4,700)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Delhi to Indore) | ₹2,800 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹450 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹700 |
| Total | ₹4,700 |
What can push the price up or down
- Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹60,000 that is about ₹1,500, plus GST.
- Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 2–4 days.
- Depot instead of door: if you can bring the bike to a hub or collect it from one, the ₹750 door charge and its GST drop off.
- Premium wrap: adds about ₹900 for extra padding and a crate-style frame, worth it for a new or high-value bike.
- Difficult access: if the truck cannot reach your gate, a smaller vehicle for the last stretch may cost extra. Tell us the address up front.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi
Most complaints about bike shipping start with a rushed advance payment. Before you send money, run through this list.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Indore delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 810 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
- Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
- Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
- Plan the Indore delivery. Rajwada and Sarafa bazaar zones are closed to heavy vehicles at certain hours, so those drops are made on the outskirts.
Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Indore (And When NOC Matters)
Crew at pickup will ask for a short set of documents. Registration in Madhya Pradesh is a separate job that you do after the bike arrives.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike, and the original stays with you.
- Addresses and phone numbers: a working contact and a landmark at the Delhi end and at the Indore end.
- Owner's ID: any one of Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the same name as the RC.
- Letter of authority: needed when a relative or friend hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
- Valid insurance: a copy of the bike's current policy.
- Finance NOC: if the bike is on a loan (hypothecation), a letter from the bank or NBFC allowing the move.
When NOC matters
Moving a bike to another state does not need an NOC for the transport itself. It matters when you want to re-register the bike in Madhya Pradesh. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, a registration from another state stays valid for twelve months, and after that you must apply for a new registration number. The Delhi transport office issues the NOC for that, and if the bike is financed, the lender has to clear it first.
Indore has more than one RTO (MP-09 is the main one); a Delhi NOC, your address proof and the bike's RC are needed to re-register.
One more point. If you qualify for the BH (Bharat) series, you do not need to re-register when you move states. Also check the current rules on older vehicles in Delhi–NCR with the transport department, because they have changed more than once. Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Delhi to Indore: Pickup To Delivery
Most bookings follow these seven steps. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Start with the form. Give your name, number and bike. If the bike is a Classic 350 or Himalayan and the drop is near Vijay Nagar, mention it so the quote fits.
- Read the quote. For 810 km it should show the total with GST, about 3–5 days on the road, and what is included. A commuter bike on this route starts near ₹3,950.
- Clear the bike. Remove the helmet lock gadgets, mirrors-mounted cameras and luggage. Keep one key and the RC with you.
- Pickup day. Someone should be at the house to sign. The bike is photographed from all sides, wrapped, strapped and loaded.
- On the road. The carrier follows a route. Ask for a call at the main halts; that is normal on a 810 km run.
- Fix the delivery time. If you are in Vijay Nagar or Palasia, tell the driver the society name and gate number, and who will be there.
- Check, sign and pay the balance. Compare the bike against your pickup photos before signing. Write any scratch on the delivery sheet at the time.
In Indore we usually deliver to Vijay Nagar, Palasia, Rau, Bhawarkua, Scheme 78 and the Super Corridor area. Rajwada and Sarafa bazaar zones are closed to heavy vehicles at certain hours, so those drops are made on the outskirts.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)
- Not checking who signs. Whoever signs at delivery accepts the bike as is, so have the right person there.
- Leaving a full tank. Carriers can refuse a bike with lots of fuel. Keep about a litre.
- Booking too late. Last-minute bookings get whatever vehicle is free, often at a higher rate. Book three to five days ahead on this route.
- A mistake specific to Indore. Skipping the pre-shipment photos. If a scratch appears on arrival and you have no 'before' pictures, insurance claims are harder to argue.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Vijay Nagar, Palasia, Rau, Bhawarkua, Scheme 78 and the Super Corridor area. Rajwada and Sarafa bazaar zones are closed to heavy vehicles at certain hours, so those drops are made on the outskirts.
