Delhi To Vadodara Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Maharaja Sayajirao University students, chemical-industry staff and ONGC employees are the common customers on the way to Vadodara.
The road distance is about 1,030 km and the usual transit is 4–6 days from the day the carrier leaves Delhi. Add a day at either end for pickup and for the delivery appointment, and you have the real timeline. The route normally follows NH48 through Jaipur, Udaipur and Ahmedabad, then south to Vadodara.
| Road distance | About 1,030 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 4–6 days |
| Express transit | 2–4 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹4,550 onwards |
| Pickup | Delhi and NCR (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Vadodara and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
The Ahmedabad–Vadodara expressway is smooth, and the delay here usually comes from the Rajasthan stretch in fog or heavy rain.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Vadodara. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. June to September is the slow season for ghat and coastal sections. Winter is generally smooth, apart from morning fog out of Delhi.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Vadodara
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
A trained crew wraps the bike, straps it to a frame inside a covered vehicle, and the same company takes it to your Vadodara address. For most people this is the sensible choice: about ₹4,550 to ₹6,200 for a commuter bike, 4–6 days on the road, and nothing for you to arrange apart from being there at both ends. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Possible, but slow. The bike goes by parcel train from a Delhi station, and you collect it at Vadodara. Packing is on you, the tank must be nearly empty, and transit depends on which trains run that week, so it can take longer than a carrier. If the parcel office at Vadodara cannot take two-wheelers, you are stuck, so ask first. See our train vs truck comparison.
3. Ride it yourself
1,030 km is 3 days of riding at a comfortable pace, and 2 nights on the road. Fuel is around ₹2,150 for a commuter bike (about ₹3,250 for a 350cc Royal Enfield). Toll is free for bikes, but hotels, food and a return ticket are not. It works if you want the trip. It does not work if you are in a hurry or the bike is new and still running in.

For most people moving house or job, the covered carrier is the one that makes sense. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Delhi To Vadodara Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For
Here are the numbers for a bike going from Delhi to Vadodara. They include standard packing, loading, GST and door pickup and delivery. Insurance is optional and comes on top.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹4,150 – ₹5,500 | 4–6 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹4,550 – ₹6,200 | 4–6 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹5,450 – ₹7,600 | 4–6 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹8,600 – ₹12,050 | 4–6 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹5,400)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Delhi to Vadodara) | ₹3,300 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹550 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹800 |
| Total | ₹5,400 |
What can change the final figure
- Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹60,000 that is about ₹1,500, plus GST.
- Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 2–4 days.
- Depot instead of door: if you can bring the bike to a hub or collect it from one, the ₹750 door charge and its GST drop off.
- Difficult access: if the truck cannot reach your gate, a smaller vehicle for the last stretch may cost extra. Tell us the address up front.
- Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi
Most complaints about bike shipping start with a rushed advance payment. Before you send money, run through this list.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Vadodara delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 1,030 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Do not pay in full upfront. A small booking amount is fine. If someone asks for everything before pickup, that is a warning sign.
- Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
- Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Plan the Vadodara delivery. Old-city lanes near Mandvi are narrow, so the carrier will meet you near the main road.
Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Vadodara (And When NOC Matters)
The carrier needs only a few papers to accept the bike. The heavier paperwork comes later, when you register in Gujarat.
- RC book or smart card: hand over a photocopy and keep the original yourself.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows hypothecation, carry the lender's consent letter for the move.
- Addresses and phone numbers: a working contact and a landmark at the Delhi end and at the Vadodara end.
- Letter of authority: needed when a relative or friend hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
- Valid insurance: a copy of the bike's current policy.
- Owner's ID: any one of Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the same name as the RC.
When NOC matters
The transport itself runs without an NOC. The need comes up when you register the bike in Gujarat: the old registration works there for twelve months, and after that a new number is required. Delhi's transport office gives the NOC, and a financed bike needs the lender's clearance before it can.
Vadodara's RTO (GJ-06) handles transfers; you need the Delhi NOC and a Vadodara address proof.
One more point. If you qualify for the BH (Bharat) series, you do not need to re-register when you move states. Also check the current rules on older vehicles in Delhi–NCR with the transport department, because they have changed more than once. Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Delhi to Vadodara: Pickup To Delivery
This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Ask for a quote. Fill the form at the top of this page or call +91 96713 11891. Share the bike model, pickup area and the Vadodara address.
- Compare and confirm. You get a written quote with the days. Pay a small booking amount only after reading it.
- Prepare the bike. Drain the tank to about a litre, remove accessories and clean it so scratches show up in the photos.
- Pickup in Delhi NCR. The crew inspects the bike with you, photographs it, wraps and straps it, and gives you a signed condition sheet.
- On the road. The carrier follows NH48. Ask for a call at the main halts; that is normal on a 1,030 km run.
- Fix the delivery time. If you are in Alkapuri or Gotri, tell the driver the society name and gate number, and who will be there.
- Inspect and close. Match the bike to the pickup photos, start it, and note any damage on the paper before you sign and pay.
In Vadodara we usually deliver to Alkapuri, Gotri, Manjalpur, Karelibaug, Akota and Waghodia Road. Old-city lanes near Mandvi are narrow, so the carrier will meet you near the main road.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)
- Trusting a verbal promise. If the days or the price are not on paper, they are not a promise.
- Leaving accessories on. Mirrors, GPS holders, saddlebags and phone mounts go missing or break. Take them off.
- Skipping the photos. Without pickup photos, a damage claim becomes your word against theirs.
- A mistake specific to Vadodara. Using a relative's address in Vadodara for delivery and then being out of town. The signature must come from the person on the authorisation letter.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Alkapuri, Gotri, Manjalpur, Karelibaug, Akota and Waghodia Road. Old-city lanes near Mandvi are narrow, so the carrier will meet you near the main road.
