Delhi To Vijayawada Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
With Amaravati close by, Vijayawada has seen a rise in state government and construction-sector moves, and engineering colleges add students.
This is a long one: about 1,780 km and 6–8 days on the road. Anyone who quotes you less than a week for a haul this size should be asked, politely, how they plan to do it. The route normally follows NH44 to Nagpur and Hyderabad, then east to Vijayawada.
| Road distance | About 1,780 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 6–8 days |
| Express transit | 4–6 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹6,000 onwards |
| Pickup | Delhi and NCR (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Vijayawada and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
The Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway is busy and goes through toll plazas, and Krishna river floods in August can slow road traffic.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Vijayawada. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Vijayawada
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Vijayawada address. A commuter bike runs about ₹6,000 to ₹8,250, with 6–8 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
On this distance, parcel trains involve more than one connection, and a bike left at a transfer station gets damaged more often than one on a single carrier. If you do try it, book a direct service where possible, and ask the parcel office at Vijayawada whether they take two-wheelers. More on that in our train vs truck guide.
3. Ride it yourself
1,780 km means 5 days of riding and 4 hotel nights. Fuel alone is about ₹3,750 for a commuter and about ₹5,650 for a 350cc bike. It is a real trip, not a relocation tool, and a long ride ages tyres, chain and brakes. Few people do it for a house move.

At this distance, a covered carrier is the only practical way to move the bike, unless you want an adventure. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Delhi To Vijayawada Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For
Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹5,550 – ₹7,300 | 6–8 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹6,000 – ₹8,250 | 6–8 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹7,200 – ₹10,100 | 6–8 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹11,400 – ₹16,000 | 6–8 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹7,100)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Delhi to Vijayawada) | ₹4,500 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹750 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹1,100 |
| Total | ₹7,100 |
Extras and adjustments
- Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹1,00,000 that is about ₹2,500, plus GST.
- Express delivery: costs roughly a quarter more on the transport charge and cuts the trip to 4–6 days.
- Premium wrap: adds about ₹900 for extra padding and a crate-style frame, worth it for a new or high-value bike.
- Waiting time: if the driver is kept waiting at pickup or delivery for hours, waiting charges can apply. Ask the policy before you book.
- Depot instead of door: if you collect from or drop at a transport hub, you save about ₹750 plus GST.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi
A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Vijayawada delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 1,780 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Do not pay in full upfront. A small booking amount is fine. If someone asks for everything before pickup, that is a warning sign.
- Plan the Vijayawada delivery. Governorpet and One Town are dense, so the carrier meets you on the main road.
Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Vijayawada (And When NOC Matters)
The carrier needs only a few papers to accept the bike. The heavier paperwork comes later, when you register in Andhra Pradesh.
- RC book or smart card: hand over a photocopy and keep the original yourself.
- Finance NOC: if the bike is on a loan (hypothecation), a letter from the bank or NBFC allowing the move.
- Addresses and phone numbers: a working contact and a landmark at the Delhi end and at the Vijayawada end.
- Valid insurance: a copy of the bike's current policy.
- Authorisation letter: if someone other than the owner hands over or receives the bike, with their ID.
- Owner's ID: any one of Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the same name as the RC.
When NOC matters
You do not need an NOC to put a bike on a carrier. You need it when the bike has to be registered in Andhra Pradesh. A registration from another state is valid for twelve months under the Motor Vehicles Act, and then a new number must be taken. The NOC comes from the Delhi transport office, and if a loan is running, the bank has to release its hold first.
Vijayawada vehicles are registered under Andhra Pradesh's AP series, and the Delhi NOC and your proof of address are needed.
Two extra notes: owners who qualify for the BH series can skip re-registration altogether, and the rules on older vehicles in Delhi–NCR keep changing, so it is worth confirming where your bike stands before you pay anyone. For a full list, see our documents required for bike transport article.
Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Delhi to Vijayawada: Pickup To Delivery
Most bookings follow these seven steps. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Start with the form. Give your name, number and bike. If the bike is a Pulsar or Jupiter and the drop is near Benz Circle, mention it so the quote fits.
- Read the quote. For 1,780 km it should show the total with GST, about 6–8 days on the road, and what is included. A commuter bike on this route starts near ₹6,000.
- Prepare the bike. Drain the tank to about a litre, remove accessories and clean it so scratches show up in the photos.
- Pickup day. Someone should be at the house to sign. The bike is photographed from all sides, wrapped, strapped and loaded.
- Transit to Vijayawada. Expect about 6–8 days on the road. You get the driver or coordinator number for updates.
- Be reachable. The driver rings ahead. Have the gate pass or society permission ready so the vehicle is not turned away.
- Check, sign and pay the balance. Compare the bike against your pickup photos before signing. Write any scratch on the delivery sheet at the time.
In Vijayawada we usually deliver to Benz Circle, Labbipet, Governorpet, Patamata, Gunadala and Auto Nagar. Governorpet and One Town are dense, so the carrier meets you on the main road.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)
- Not checking who signs. Whoever signs at delivery accepts the bike as is, so have the right person there.
- Ignoring the weather. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi. Ask for a flexible window.
- Trusting a verbal promise. If the days or the price are not on paper, they are not a promise.
- A mistake specific to Vijayawada. Not allowing extra days in monsoon. River flooding can reroute vehicles, so plan a buffer.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Benz Circle, Labbipet, Governorpet, Patamata, Gunadala and Auto Nagar. Governorpet and One Town are dense, so the carrier meets you on the main road.
