Delhi To Khammam Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies

Cotton, chilli and the Singareni coal belt shape Khammam, and a number of Delhi families move there for business, power plants and the regional colleges.

This is a long one: about 1,720 km and 6–8 days on the road. Anyone who quotes you less than a week for a haul this size should be asked, politely, how they plan to do it. The route normally follows NH44 to Hyderabad or Warangal, then the Khammam highway.

Why the timing changes

Khammam is off the main north-south line. The last 120 km from Hyderabad or Warangal is on a busy highway.

Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:

  • How often carriers leave for Khammam. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
  • Season. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi.
  • Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
  • Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.

How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Khammam

There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.

1. Door-to-door by covered carrier

The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Khammam address. A commuter bike runs about ₹5,950 to ₹8,100, with 6–8 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.

2. Railway parcel

On this distance, parcel trains involve more than one connection, and a bike left at a transfer station gets damaged more often than one on a single carrier. If you do try it, book a direct service where possible, and ask the parcel office at Khammam whether they take two-wheelers. More on that in our train vs truck guide.

3. Ride it yourself

1,720 km means 5 days of riding and 4 hotel nights. Fuel alone is about ₹3,650 for a commuter and about ₹5,450 for a 350cc bike. It is a real trip, not a relocation tool, and a long ride ages tyres, chain and brakes. Few people do it for a house move.

At this distance, a covered carrier is the only practical way to move the bike, unless you want an adventure. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.

Delhi To Khammam Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For

Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.

Bike typePrice range (incl. GST)Delivery
Scooter / moped (up to 125cc)₹5,450 – ₹7,2006–8 days
Commuter bike (100–160cc)₹5,950 – ₹8,1006–8 days
Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc)₹7,100 – ₹9,9506–8 days
Sports bike (300cc+)₹11,250 – ₹15,7506–8 days
Superbike (650cc+)Quoted after we know the exact model

Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹7,000)

ItemApprox. amount
Line-haul freight (Delhi to Khammam)₹4,450
Loading, strapping and standard wrap₹750
Door pickup and door delivery₹750
GST at 18%₹1,050
Total₹7,000

What can change the final figure

  • Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹1,00,000 that is about ₹2,500, plus GST.
  • Express delivery: costs roughly a quarter more on the transport charge and cuts the trip to 4–6 days.
  • Premium wrap: costs about ₹900 more for thicker padding and a frame around the bike. Sensible for a new or expensive machine.
  • Depot instead of door: if you collect from or drop at a transport hub, you save about ₹750 plus GST.
  • Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.

The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi

A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.

  • Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Khammam delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
  • Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 1,720 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
  • Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
  • Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
  • Do not pay in full upfront. A small booking amount is fine. If someone asks for everything before pickup, that is a warning sign.
  • Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
  • Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
  • Plan the Khammam delivery. Several areas are served by narrow lanes, and the delivery may need a smaller vehicle for the last stretch.

Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Khammam (And When NOC Matters)

The carrier needs only a few papers to accept the bike. The heavier paperwork comes later, when you register in Telangana.

  • RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike, and the original stays with you.
  • Letter of authority: needed when a relative or friend hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
  • Finance NOC: if the bike is on a loan (hypothecation), a letter from the bank or NBFC allowing the move.
  • Contact details: a phone number and landmark for both Delhi and Khammam.
  • Owner's ID: any one of Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the same name as the RC.
  • Insurance copy: the current policy, not an expired one. Third-party cover is the minimum.

When NOC matters

You do not need an NOC to put a bike on a carrier. You need it when the bike has to be registered in Telangana. A registration from another state is valid for twelve months under the Motor Vehicles Act, and then a new number must be taken. The NOC comes from the Delhi transport office, and if a loan is running, the bank has to release its hold first.

Khammam has an RTO, and the NOC and an address proof are needed to register the bike there.

Keep two things in mind. A BH (Bharat) series plate does not need re-registration after a state change, if you are eligible for one. And rules for older vehicles in Delhi–NCR have shifted over the years, so confirm the current position for your bike's age before you book. Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Delhi to Khammam: Pickup To Delivery

This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.

  1. Ask for a quote. Fill the form at the top of this page or call +91 96713 11891. Share the bike model, pickup area and the Khammam address.
  2. Confirm the booking. Check the days and the price, then pay the booking amount. Keep the receipt; you will need it at delivery.
  3. Clear the bike. Remove the helmet lock gadgets, mirrors-mounted cameras and luggage. Keep one key and the RC with you.
  4. Handover in Laxmi Nagar or nearby. The crew walks around the bike with you, notes every mark, ties it down and hands you the condition sheet.
  5. Transit to Khammam. Expect about 6–8 days on the road. You get the driver or coordinator number for updates.
  6. Fix the delivery time. If you are in Wyra Road or Mamata Road, tell the driver the society name and gate number, and who will be there.
  7. Inspect and close. Match the bike to the pickup photos, start it, and note any damage on the paper before you sign and pay.

In Khammam we usually deliver to Wyra Road, Mamata Road, Gandhi Chowk, Nayabazar, Ramnagar and Kothagudem Road. Several areas are served by narrow lanes, and the delivery may need a smaller vehicle for the last stretch.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)

  • Not checking who signs. Whoever signs at delivery accepts the bike as is, so have the right person there.
  • Trusting a verbal promise. If the days or the price are not on paper, they are not a promise.
  • Choosing only on price. A quote far below the others usually means a shared, transfer-heavy journey or missing insurance.
  • A mistake specific to Khammam. Not telling the carrier which road you prefer. Khammam can be reached via Hyderabad or Warangal, and the choice affects the days.
  • Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Wyra Road, Mamata Road, Gandhi Chowk, Nayabazar, Ramnagar and Kothagudem Road. Several areas are served by narrow lanes, and the delivery may need a smaller vehicle for the last stretch.
